THE PRINCIPAL'S ROLE IN SHAPING SCHOOL CULTURE

School Culture

Introduction
School culture is likely the most important factor to receive focused attention by school leaders. Whether leaders like it or don't like it, it is what literally dictates what people do on a daily basis. Thus, lack of interest in it, down-playing it as 'soft,' having others attend to it, just won't cut it. If you want the school to succeed pay attention to it. If you believe rules and policies are more important and that is what you bring to the staff, you should seek other work.

"There is a possibility, under-emphasized in leadership research, that the only thing of real importance that leaders do is to create and manage culture and the unique talent of leaders is to work with this culture."
