The team continued to meet and concerns were growing about the lowest performers. Jolene encouraged them to examine the Winter assessment before making major changes to the curriculum and instructional approach. When the data was in, the following graph was provided at the next meeting:

Jolene reminded the team that the fall data, using the Spring norm, was shaped like an "L" and now it resembled a "Bell." "This is progress," she said, "You've moved 13 more children over the spring goal at the school year's half-way point! Congratulationsthat's a nice accomplishment." The team indicated that the data looked better but still expressed concern about the low performers. They wanted to see a side-by-side comparison.

It was clear to the team that things were improving and this gave a visual picture of how the group was moving up in performance. (The tallest bars were moving left, up towards the 90th percentile)
