Listening to and Learning from Parents

If we want to serve students, listening to their parents is paramount. Establishing two way communication between educators and parents in schools is one of the biggest challenges—but also one of the most important components—of parent involvement (Epstein, 1997). Parents know their children and their children's circumstances far better than we can ever hope to.
