Staff Accountability
School Environment

Establishing and maintaining a positive school environment must be a team effort by the administration, staff, parents, and students. Everybody has to be on the same page or risk a message of inconsistency to parents. Staff expectations should be in writing in a staff handbook and reviewed annually. Staff meetings throughout the year should emphasize consistency and follow-through.

Grading procedures, how to conduct conferences, disciplinary interventions/referrals, dress code expectations, hallway privileges, progress reporting, staff accessibility, and many other aspects of the daily routine need to be done as a team. The message to students and parents is consistency and professionalism.

Efforts to hold staff accountable in these areas in a positive, professional manner will help to minimize negative messages about the school.
