Grade-level Teams

School Improvement Concept @ Work
An elementary school has been working in grade-level teams this past year. Every grade level has been working on a goal aligned with the building goal of reading:

It is the end of April and teachers are getting ready to complete their final assessments. They are expected to turn in their results to you per grade level team. The report each team submits follows the Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) framework. In the fall they turned in sections for "Plan" and "Do." By May 25, they are to turn in the sections under "Study" and "Act."

School Improvement Your Turn
  1. You need to determine meaningful questions for teachers to complete for both sections (Study and Act). What questions you will ask?

  2. You also want to apply the same framework (PDSA) to your building (you are expected to submit a building report to the district office). How will you engage all teachers in studying and acting upon the results for the building? Design a 1.5-hour inservice that will engage all teachers in understanding building-wide improvement and opportunities for future work.
