The WRC has designed a proactive approach to giving support staff personnel in the South Carolina educational systems the training and technical support necessary for them to be successful in their job.
The National Resource Center for Paraprofessionals
The National Resource Center for Paraprofessionals is a not-for-profit organization. The website contains a wide variety of resources and links to help paraprofessionals gain greater skill and strategies which will enable them to support the learning environment. The site also contains research connected to a variety of paraprofessional models and programs.
Project PARA
Project PARA is an outreach of the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. The project is committed to offering training that is comprehensive, widely accessible, and beneficial to both paraeducators and the teachers who supervise them. This training is intended to provide support for newly developing or enhance existing paraeducator and teacher preparation programs at the school, district, or university level. Project PARA offers two separate, yet related training programs designed to serve two populations; paraeducators and individuals who supervise paraeducators.
School Bus Driver’s Resources is a site connected with the website “Children’s Place.”
The site gives dozens of links to a wide variety of sites that can assist with school bus driver issues. Safety is a main concern of nearly every bus driver and this site gives drivers or those that work with or supervise drivers resources to enrich their performance and ability to work with children.
